Obey Clothing (stylized as OBEY) is a clothing company founded in 2001 by street artist and illustrator Shepard Fairey as an extension of his activist work.
The first goal of phenomenology is to awaken wonder about one's environment. OBEY's sticker attempts to stimulate curiosity and make people question both the sticker and their relationship to their surroundings.
Because OBEY has no meaning of its own, the various reactions and interpretations of those who watch it reflect their personality and the nature of their sensitivities.
